Downtown Dog Rescue operates a kennel facility where dogs receive medical care, training, enrichment, and individualized attention while waiting for a permanent home.
In 2013, Downtown Dog Rescue purchased the property and built the kennel from the ground up. Today, the facility is owned outright, with no mortgage, providing a permanent home base for our adoption and rescue programs.
Many of the dogs in our program come from challenging situations and need time, stability, and support before they are ready for adoption. Our goal is not simply to place dogs quickly, but to find the right match for both the dog and the adopter.
When you adopt a DDR dog, you are welcoming a new member of your family and helping create space for another dog to enter our program.
Senior Dogs
Senior dogs hold a special place in our hearts. While they are often overlooked in favor of younger dogs, senior dogs have so much love, companionship, and gratitude to give. Many are already house-trained, know how to live in a home, and are simply looking for a comfortable place to spend their golden years.

You provide the loving home, and Downtown Dog Rescue will continue to cover veterinary care costs for the life of the dog. Our goal is to remove financial barriers so more senior dogs can enjoy the comfort, stability, and love of a family.
