SCVMA Wellness Clinics
For more than 12 years, Downtown Dog Rescue and the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA) have partnered to provide monthly community wellness clinics serving South East and South Central Los Angeles, where access to affordable veterinary care is often limited.
Held on the second Sunday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., these drive-through clinics provide vaccinations, microchipping, and basic wellness services for dogs and cats. For many families, these clinics are the first opportunity their pets have had to receive veterinary care.
Through this partnership, thousands of pets have been vaccinated and microchipped, helping improve community health and reduce the spread of preventable diseases such as parvovirus. Early intervention and preventive care not only protect individual pets but also strengthen the overall health of the communities we serve.
In addition to Downtown Dog Rescue volunteers - veterinarians, registered veterinary technicians, and veterinary staff from SCVMA generously volunteer their time and expertise to make these clinics possible. Their ongoing commitment has helped ensure that pets and families have access to essential veterinary care regardless of financial circumstances.
PetSpace Spay/Neuter Clinic Days
Funding from PetSpace allows Downtown Dog Rescue to expand surgical capacity, reduce barriers to care, and provide more appointments for families who might otherwise be unable to access affordable spay and neuter services.
By investing in preventive veterinary care, PetSpace helps reduce unwanted litters, improve the health and well-being of pets, and support families in keeping their beloved companions healthy and at home.
